"Listen & Lead"  Talks and Workshops

We’ve noticed and experienced that Listening is a core Leadership quality

What do we mean by Listen, Listening?

The innate part of listening is what has made you survive so far.

But that’s not enough to participate in a meaningful conversation, and certainly not sufficient to lead a decision-making meeting.

Listening abilities are a set of skills that we englobe under the term “Listening”.
  • hear, process, interpret, evaluate, assign meaning, integrate with previous knowledge…
  • tame or bypass internal and external noise, manage emotions...
  • use of thinking time, master silence and the Art of questions (to name a few ;-)

When you’re an effective listener, you also cover several other areas of communication such as: nonverbal language (body language, aural language), the use of your five senses and others (intuition, emotional intelligence, empathy).

When you’re an effective listener, you are a more effective speaker too!

What do we mean by Lead, Leader, Leadership?

The Leader, as we understand it nowadays, is a person who have all the qualities and skills of a mature human being, such as respect for others.

Leaders today demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, enable creativity and innovation and handle complexity, ambiguity and change. They are able to manage and communicate across cultures and paradigms as well as inspire people towards performance and success.

Leadership are observable attitudes and behaviors, including the ability to listen, coach, build trust, communicate effectively, empower others, think strategically and be a role model.

Become a more effective listener with our "Listen & Lead" Program

Our “Listen & Lead” program is based on the assertion that knowing how to listen effectively prepares to lead and helps to develop leadership.

Our program is grounded on the researches, writings and trainings developed in the western world these last 60 years. And specifically, in the exceptional pool of competencies called the ILA (International Listening Association) based in Minnesota USA.

We didn’t invent the principles of listening. Effective listening behaviors principles go back as far as we have oral or written testimonials. Ptahhotep in Egypt (4’000 years ago) Plutarch in Greece (2’000 years ago) and many others along the way in every culture.

The originality of our program comes from a global perception of listening due to the multiple experiences of Jean Francois Mathieu as civil engineer, music composer, trainer and presenter, as a leader in building and conducting projects, associations, orchestras, companies and his unstoppable passion for sound, music and people interactions.

“ears can go where eyes can’t see”

Invest in yourself

Your main asset is you. So, treat yourself well and invest in yourself.

It doesn’t hurt to read books and meaningful articles on a subject. It just takes time. And the choice is so vast that some may be redundant with your current experience and knowledge.

We can lead you straight to the point you want to reach through Leaders Today’s workshops. Nothing beats experiential learning through reflection and practical exercises.

When you decide to become a more effective listener, we’ll be there to guide you on this path.

We invite you to have a look at our program “listen & lead” talks and workshops and contact us for more information and any question.
