Command and control is no longer an effective way of leading teams of highly skilled professionals and knowledge workers.  Nonetheless, it is still deeply embedded in behavioral codes and most leaders revert to it automatically, not having a viable alternative to hold employees accountable.


Coaching as a leadership style responds precisely to this need of the modern day workplace where employees expect some autonomy, purpose and the opportunity to use their competences fully. 


Having coaching skills gives Team Leaders the ability to empower, inspire, set meaningful goals and ensure accountability.
